Dr Paul B Murray is Principal Research Fellow within Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Southampton.
Paul joined the Institute of Sound and Vibration in August 2007 as a Principal Research Fellow (part-time), where he is attached to the Rolls Royce University Technology Centre in Gas Turbine Noise. He graduated in Physics and Applied Mathematics from Queen’s University Belfast in 1985, and completed a PhD in Atomic Physics, also at Queen’s, in 1989. After leaving university he worked in the Aerospace industry, first as an Aerodynamicist for BAe Systems, and from 1994 as an Acoustics Engineer, working in Bombardier Shorts, Boeing, and Alenia Aermacchi. He is a Chartered Physicist and a member of the Institute of Acoustics. Paul also works as an acoustic consultant for Morrisbrand Ltd
