Research interests

• Laser-direct-write fabrication of paper-based diagnostic sensors
• Fabrication of paper-based microfluidic devices using laser direct-writing
• Laser manufactured paper devices for multiplexed detection of bacteria and their resistance to antibiotics

Current research

His interests/researches are mainly focused on developing rapid low-cost point-of-care (POC) diagnostic tools using a laser-based technology. He has developed a laser-based procedure for fabrication of paper-based sensors/devices, which provides a very robust platform for implementation of a vast variety of bio-assays for clinical diagnostics to tackle global healthcare challenges that range from diagnosis of infection diseases to monitoring of personal conditions and to bacteria detection and antibiotic susceptibility testing.
