Current research
Jennifer’s current research investigates the licencing and regulation of non-surgical cosmetic procedures in the England and Wales.
Teaching
Dr White teaches on a range of courses, including the Legal Skills and Legal Systems and Methods LLB modules, focusing on sources of law, the doctrine of precedent, interpretation of legislation and legal reasoning.
Biography
Dr White joined the Law School in 2023. She holds a Distinction (MSt) from the University of Oxford for her work into the unregulated beauty industry. Dr White’s doctoral study was based at the Southampton School of Geography, where she examined the gender pay gap and migration patterns of solicitors. In the 7 years since receiving her doctorate, she has worked at the DIFC Courts in Dubai, and at Grant Thornton LLP’s Insolvency and Asset Recovery team in London. She has been awarded the Law First scholarship from the University of Law (GDL) and the Dean’s Academic Excellence award from City University (BVC).
