My research focuses on sediment transport in coastal environments, particularly within the framework of climate change. Specifically, I investigate how coastal morphologies, including bedforms and beaches in both cohesive and non-cohesive settings, respond to sea level rise and variations in storm intensity. My methodology encompasses both flume and field experiments to assess these dynamics comprehensively.
My current research focuses on the role of gravel barriers in coastal flood management. Specifically, I concentrate on field observations of morphological changes in various types of gravel beaches during storms. Additionally, I test the permeability of gravel on beaches and collect sediment grain size information using digital grain sizing techniques. This work aims to enhance our understanding of how gravel barriers respond to extreme weather events.
