Research project

Black Hole Microstates in Supergravity

Project overview

String Theory provides a microscopic description of black holes as being bound states of strings and branes with an exponentially large number of internal microstates. Amongst these microstates, there are coherent pure states, large families of which have been shown to be well-described by smooth horizonless supergravity solutions. The goals of this project are to construct new supergravity solutions describing black hole microstates, and to study them holographically.
