Paul is a Principal Teaching Fellow and Director of Online Programmes at Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton. He is currently responsible for developing and managing the online education provision at the School.
Paul has led and taught extensively across a broad range of subjects in the field Fashion Management and Fashion Marketing, including Fashion Business, Buying & Merchandising, Supply Chain and Strategic Issues. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and holds a University award for his excellence in teaching.
Paul has over 16 years experience in Buying & Merchandising gained within both high street and international retailers, as well as consulting with emerging niche brands to help them transition into national players. He has been responsible for introducing international brands into leading department stores, as well as developing own brand label collections within Menswear. As a Senior Buyer, he bought and managed several large product categories with annual turnovers in excess of £100 million. He has travelled extensively, working directly with suppliers and manufactures in China, mainland Europe and the UK to develop new product ranges.
His research interests centre around understanding the role experiential retailing has in reshaping the emerging physical retail landscape.
Paul is a Retail Consultant working with businesses and brands to develop successful retail strategies.
