Biography

Natasha started her career in science focused communications at the University of Southampton’s on campus start-up platform and business accelerator, Future Worlds. She led on the development and implementation of a medical-focused communications strategy and produced enterprise events and video content to support researchers and aspiring entrepreneurs to develop high impact start-ups and spinouts. 

She specialises in digital communications, social media strategy and brand awareness. Natasha holds a CIM Diploma in Professional Digital Marketing, a BA in Television Production from Bournemouth University and is an Adobe Certified Associate in Digital Video. 

Natasha is responsible for leading and managing the National Biofilms Innovation Centre (NBIC) Marketing and Communications Strategy to support the successful delivery of NBIC and to promote the work of NBIC researchers.

NBIC is an Innovation and Knowledge Centre (IKC) jointly funded by the BBSRC and Innovate UK. By bringing together the UK's strength in biofilm research, and combining it with the expertise of industrialists, NBIC aims to deliver breakthrough technologies that will have an impact on day-to-day lives.

As a lead NBIC institution, the University of Southampton hosts the largest grouping of biofilm academics in the UK and is unique in its ability to consider biofilms in an integrated way across a range of research areas. These include biological sciences, medicine, chemistry, computational modelling, engineering and ocean science creating impact across diverse fields of application, from medicine to industry to the environment.
