About the School
The School of Economic, Social and Political Sciences is part of the Faculty of Social Sciences and dedicated to produce impactful research that addresses major societal challenges and to deliver high-quality education and learning shaping the next generation of social scientists.
Our Departments regularly feature in top UK rankings in terms of research and teaching.
Our research
Our five departments are recognised centers of excellence for research and teaching. Our academics develop and apply advanced methods and analyses to address pressing societal issues.

The School is home to the Centre for Population Change/Connecting Generations and the National Centre for Research Methods, both funded by the Economic and Social Research Council. Our academics have forged collaborations with researchers, industries, and governments worldwide.

- Give displaced women and girls a voice
- Improve maternal and neonatal health
- Improve the lives of older people
