Module overview
In this module, you will critically evaluate and analyse a variety of literature dealing with contemporary issues in fashion marketing and branding, relevant theories and a range of research methods. You will develop a focused research proposal for your final project work on an important area within contemporary fashion marketing and branding. You will have opportunities to engage with a range of library sources to help you form a clear and focused research purpose while incorporating inclusive, ethical and sustainable practices that will help you to develop your own professional career. Additionally, you will learn to apply personal and professional organisational and self-management attributes associated with effective research and professional practice.

Syllabus
This module will help you to explore and develop your understanding of academic and professional literacy skills, criticality and cognitive flexibility as you design and present a research proposal within the context of fashion marketing and branding. This proposal is preparation for the final project and is aligned with previous learning objectives gained in Semesters 1 and 2, and will include the following:
- Research aims and research question formulation suitable for a large project
- Critical and systematic literature review of relevant sources, both academic and non-academic, within fashion marketing and branding
- Research ethics and principles in the application of robust research techniques that emphasise rigour including reliability, validity, dependability and credibility
- Overview of a variety of relevant research methods in the fashion industry that are inclusive, ethical and sustainable
- Review of appropriate analytical frameworks
- Data presentation techniques
