Current research
Mark's research interests include supernovae, dark energy, galaxy evolution, and applications of data science techniques to astrophysics research. His supernova research group has been funded by the European Research Council and by the Science & Technology Facilities Council (STFC), and he was the PI of the STFC Centre for Doctoral Training in Data Intensive Science (DISCnet). He is now working on preparation for the Rubin Observatory's Legacy Survey of Space and Time, and the ESO/4MOST spectrographic instrument.
