Current research
My research sits at the interface of aerospace engineering, mathematics, and computer science. I produce scalable computational methods to support the design and development of next-generation, safe and sustainable air transportation vehicles. The goals are de-carbonizing aviation, improving transport connectivity at urban and regional levels (AAM), and helping industry bring new products to market faster.

Teaching
I have more than 10 years of experience in teaching aeronautics and astronautics at undergraduate and graduate level courses. I am committed to delivering high-quality education as documented by excellent students' rating and feedback, 2 nominations for "Oustanding Lecturer" from Southampton University Students' Union, and the recognition as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
I have a focus on active learning, embracing the Constructivist pedagogy that emphasizes active discovery learning on the part of the students. My mission as an Educator is to help students find their ambitions and passions in Engineering, and to equip them with the right skillset needed in their future workplace.
I am module Lead for:
- Aircraft Structural Design SESA3026, mandatory, undegraduate course of the aeronautics and astronautics program (3rd year) with about 250 students;
- Aeroelasticity SESA6077, optional, graduate course of the aeronautics and astronautics program (4th year) with about 15 students;
- Individual Project FEEG3003, mandatory, undergraduate course for School of Engineering (3rd year) with about 600 students.
My teaching philosophy is intertwined with research excellence and service/leadership for the University. In my role of Director of the Boeing Flight Simulators Laboratory, I ensure the laboratory provides curriculum enhancement, equipping students with the knowledge of how to handle real-life scenarios and complementing theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience. This fulfils the mission of the University: educate students, grow their skills, and create the next generation of highly qualified engineers to address the future grand challenges.
