Dr Qingjing (Maggie) Zhang is a Lecturer in Accounting and the Programme Lead for MSc Accounting and Management at Southampton Business School.
Qingjing joined the Southampton Business School in August 2015 after completing her PhD in Accounting and Finance at the University of Durham. She has taught a wide range of courses in accounting, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including Accounting and Society, Management Accounting, and Accounting for Corporate Performance.
Currently Qingjing has particular interests in market-based accounting, corporate governance and sustainability, with a particular focus on financial reporting quality, CEO compensation, and environmental performance. She has published in these areas and continues to publish in these areas. The publications include Journal of Banking & Finance (ABS 3*), British Accounting Review (ABS 3*), Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting (ABS 3*), International Journal of Finance & Economics (ABS 3*), and Business Strategy and the Environment (ABS 3*). Her papers have also been selected to present in the international well-known conferences such as AAA Annual Meeting, FMA Annual Meeting, EFA Annual Meeting, EFA Annual Meeting and BAFA Annual Meeting.
Qingjing welcomes PhD applications in the above areas. Currently she is supervising a number of PhD students at all stages, conducting their research on topics in market-based accounting, governance, and sustainability.
