Current research
Gloria's research addresses hardship in two ways. First, it examines how organisations working to alleviate societal challenges like refugee crises and poverty create and uphold shared values. Second, it examines how individuals’ own setback experiences inform their career and entrepreneurial growth. By focussing how these actors notice, make meaning of, and respond to hardship, her research contributes to organisational theories of sensemaking, values and emotions, and institutional change.
