Scholarly Activities
Dr Tezdogan is co-Editor-in-Chief of Ocean Engineering for Elsevier. He is also on the editorial board of two other journals and before he served as special issue guest editor of Ocean Engineering, Applied Ocean Research, Journal of Marine Science and Technology. He regularly reviews papers for many Journals.
He is also a member of research panel (FCT) in Portugal. He has also been selected as a Reviewer or an Evaluator for some EU- Horizon 2020, Newton Fund and ISPF calls.
He has served on the technical committees of International Towing Tank Conference (NGO member of IMO) since 2017, as a member of the Specialist Committee on Combined CFD/EFD Methods of the 29th ITTC (2017-2021); a member of the Quality Systems Group of the 30th ITTC (2021-2024) and a member of the Seakeeping Committee for the 31st ITTC (2024-2027).
He served as a member of the UK Shipbuilding Skills Taskforce (UKSST) from May 2022 to December 2023, a partnership established by the Ministry of Education between government, industry, training providers, and trade representative bodies. The Taskforce launched its report, “A Step Change in UK Shipbuilding Skills”, along with a supporting toolkit for shipbuilding employers on how to leverage the UK skills system.
He is also a member of IMarEST. He has been a Professional Affairs and Education Committee (PAEC) member of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology (IMarEST) since May 2019.
