Freya Ivy Palmer is a PhD student at the University of Southampton. She is currently pursuing her PhD in ‘Protecting the Marine environment: Understanding how resources shocks could help enhance sustainability of marine fisheries’ funded by the University of Southampton. Freya’s research project is interdisciplinary involving both social sciences and machine learning for data collection to support her system dynamics causal loop diagrams which aim to map the complexity of UK marine fisheries. She is interested in influencing policymakers in the field with her holistic systems dynamics approach if evidence-based suggestions can be made.
