About
Rob is a Chartered Psychologist who has a background in exercise and health behaviour. He is a Lecturer within the School of Health Sciences, where his research and teaching interests focus on motivating patients to engage with treatment and make lifestyle changes that will benefit their health. The focus of Rob's teaching and research is motivating patients to initiate and maintain helpful health behaviour change. Rob’s PhD explored the feasibility of motivational interviewing as an adjunct to pulmonary rehabilitation, with a particular emphasis on the processes involved in acquiring and refining motivational interviewing skills. He has been delivering training in motivational interviewing for over 25 years and is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers.
Rob is the admissions lead for physiotherapy.
