About
Carl is a PhD student at the UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training in Machine Intelligence for Nano-Electronic Devices and Systems (MINDS) and a member of the Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) research group, supervised by Prof. Matthew Turner and Prof. Steve Gunn. His research, so far, has focused on analysing stability properties of systems with neural networks. He is also a demonstrator for first year undergraduate students studying engineering mathematics.
Carl completed a master’s degree (MSc) in Systems, Control, and Signal Processing and a bachelor's degree (BEng) in Electronic Engineering with AI, both at the University of Southampton. In addition to this, he completed an internship with Dr. Markus Brede, studying optimized methods of control and the effect of Braess’ paradox on network stability.
You can update this in Pure (opens in a new tab). Select ‘Edit profile’. Under the heading and then ‘Curriculum and research description’, select ‘Add profile information’. In the dropdown menu, select - ‘About’.
Write about yourself in the third person. Aim for 100 to 150 words covering the main points about who you are and what you currently do. Clear, simple language is best. You can include specialist or technical terms.
You’ll be able to add details about your research, publications, career and academic history to other sections of your staff profile.
