Layna is a postgraduate student based in the School of Mathematics. Layna's research focuses on medical statistics.
Layna's research explores using a capture-recapture approach to meta-analysis to find more reliable estimates in the case of systematically missing data, using a case study on the completed suicide rates after bariatric surgery as an example application.
Layna has teaching experience as a demonstrator in the following areas:
Layna holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Mathematics with Actuatial Science and an MRes in Mathematical Science (specialising in Medical Statistics) both from the University of Southampton.
Layna embarked upon her iPhD at the School of Mathematical Sciences in 2021, supervised by Professor Dankmar Böhning and Dr Antony Overstall.
