Dr. Ahmad Maaitah is an Assistant Professor of Finance and FinTech at the Southampton Business School, University of Southampton. With a robust academic foundation, Dr. Maaitah earned his Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Southampton, where he also obtained his M.Sc. in Finance. He holds a B.Sc. in Financial and Banking Science and has further expanded his expertise with a Professional Diploma in NGO Management and a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice.
Prior to his current position, he worked as a Research Fellow at the Centre for Health Education and Research in the UK, where he built models exploring socio-economic-environmental dynamics. He spent three years gaining practical skills in the financial industry, which now enhances his academic and research activities. In his current role, Dr. Maaitah serves as the Programme Director for the BSc Finance and FinTech and as Deputy Director of the Centre for Digital Finance. He is also the Undergraduate Research Dissertations Coordinator at Southampton Business School. His research interests include macrofinance, forecasting financial markets and FinTech, with a particular focus on cryptocurrencies and digital finance.
