Biography
Jenny is a freelance opera singer (mezzo soprano). She studied singing at Birmingham Conservatoire and at the University of Southampton.
Former voice teachers include BBC Cardiff singer of the world vocal expert Mary King.
She has sung with English National Opera, English Touring Opera, Buxton Festival Opera, Carl Rosa Opera and at the Spoleto Festival, Italy. Roles include Florence Pike in Albert Herring, Zita in Gianni Schicchi, Mrs Noye in Noye’s Fludde, Madame Larina in Eugene Onegin, Katisha in The Mikado, Ruth in The Pirates of Penzance, Marcellina in The Marriage of Figaro, Berta in The Barber of Seville, title role in La Cenerentola and Zerlina in Don Giovanni. In 2021 she sang the role of Mrs Jenkins in the world premiere of David Hackbridge Johnson’s Madeleine.
Jenny has taught at a number of schools and colleges in Hampshire and former students have gone on to postgraduate studies at major London conservatoires.
