Olatokunbo Shoyemi is a Postgraduate Researcher based in the Center for Risk Research, Southampton Business School, University of Southampton.
Olatokunbo’s research examines the management of fraud in insurance businesses, with a specific focus on the Nigerian motor insurance market.

Current research
Olatokunbo’ current research is titled “an empirical evaluation of the existing fraud risk management in Nigeria insurance businesses” and examines (i) experts’ risk perceptions of motor insurance fraud in Nigeria, (ii) the factors responsible for motor insurance fraud in Nigeria, and (iii) the management of motor insurance fraud in Nigeria using a fraud risk management framework. His research utilizes data from the Nigerian motor insurance market that has been obtained via representative samples of insurance experts. His research will contribute to the developing body of knowledge on motor insurance fraud relevant to the global insurance market and, more specifically, to the Nigeria insurance industry.

Teaching
Olatokunbo has over a decade of teaching related experiences in the United Kingdom (University of Southampton) and Nigeria (Lagos State University of Science and Technology). Currently, he assists in teaching project risk management, management analysis, and foundation of business analytics at Southampton Business School.
Biography
Before joining the University of Southampton as a postgraduate researcher, Olatokunbo obtained a Master of Science in risk management and insurance (distinction) at the University of Lagos, and a Bachelor of Science in Insurance (first class) at the Joseph Ayo Babalola University, in Nigeria. Olatokunbo worked as an insurance lecturer and Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer at the Lagos State University of Science & Technology and Noly Insurance Brokers limited, respectively, in Nigeria.
