Amruta Bagwe is a Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) funded postgraduate researcher in the Department of Economics at the University of Southampton. Her main field of research is applied labour economics.
Her current research project studies the causal relationship between vocational training and youth labour market outcomes in India using Instrumental Variable and Conditional Mixed Process models.

Amruta Bagwe has previously completed her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Economics from the University of Mumbai in 2016 and 2018 respectively. She also holds a Master of Research degree in Economics from the University of Bristol which was completed in 2020.
In 2017, while pursuing her studies in India, she worked as a research intern at the Tribal Development Department of the Government of Maharashtra. She was also a guest lecturer for 'Indian Economy and Policy Implementations' at the training institute of the Indian Audit and Accounts Department, Mumbai in 2016.
