About
Felix is a Principal Research Fellow (Assoc. Prof.) in the School of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Southampton. He focuses on theoretical physics at the interface of AdS/CFT duality, quantum gravity, quantum information theory, and many-body dynamics.
Felix is also the current Director of the Southampton Theory, Astrophysics and Gravity (STAG) Research Centre.

Current research
Felix works on physics related to string theory, AdS/CFT duality, classical and quantum gravity, and dynamics of non-equilibrium systems. A recurring theme in his research is thermality, various notions of entropy, real-time dynamics, and chaos.

Biography
Felix joined the University of Southampton in 2022.
Previously, he was a Postdoctoral Scientist at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton (2019-2022) and an ‘It from Qubit’ Postdoctoral Fellow at UBC Vancouver (2016-2019).
He received his PhD from Durham University (2016), after completing MSc & BSc degrees at ETH Zurich. As a student he also completed long-term research visits at UC Santa Barbara, Perimeter Institute, and UC Davis.
