Current research
Victoria’s current research focuses on the learner identities of apprentices. Her research is largely qualitative and explores the experiences of individuals undergoing apprenticeship training in the Royal School of Military Engineering (RSME). RSME offers apprenticeships in animal handling, explosive ordnance disposal as well as technical engineering, offering an extremely interesting case-study of apprenticeships and apprentices.
Thesis title: Learning Identities and Apprenticeships: What constitutes the learner identities of individuals undertaking apprenticeship training and how are they affected by the learning environment that surrounds them?

Biography
In addition to her part-time work as a postgraduate researcher at the University of Southampton, Victoria is employed full time as a commissioned officer in the British Army’s Education and Training Services. Having recently promoted to the rank of Major she is currently completing training for her new rank. Once complete, she will assume responsibility for generating, operating and assuring professional development pathways for the Army’s personnel development practitioners.
