Ana is an Assistant Professor of the Biology Education Study Programme at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Education, State Islamic University Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
Her research interests concern on cross-cultural borders in science education, pre-service science teachers, contextual learning, cultural studies of science education, and socio-scientific issues.
Her previous dissertation for her master's degree focuses on students' perception of the role of local culture and local nature in science education (Loculnation). She previously worked as a Head of Content in an Education Technology Start-up, Pahamify, that focuses on developing teaching material. Most of the teaching material that she and her team produced included a local culture and local nature as part of contextual teaching.
As she broadens her career as a lecturer, now she wants to deepen her research on developing culture-based socio-scientific issues knowledge of Indonesia pre-service science teachers since Indonesia, a country where she comes from, is well-known for the diversity of culture.
