Before joining as a lecturer in September 2024, Madison completed her PhD at Southampton Law School. Her PhD research explored how global complex risks can be tackled using an approach which encompasses public regulation and private governance, focusing specifically on the maritime risk of solid bulk cargo liquefaction. Her research was funded by the Southampton Marine and Maritime Institute as part of their 'Solid Bulk Cargo Liquefaction: Strategies of Effective Control' multidisciplinary project, which was in turn funded by the Lloyd's Register Foundation.
Madison has been teaching at Southampton Law School since 2022, focusing primarily on English private law, including subjects like contract law, tort law, and insurance law.
