Stefania Paredes Fuentes (PhD, SFHEA) joined the Department of Economics at the University of Southampton in January 2024. Her research focus lies at the intersection of Institutions, Development, and Inequality. Recently, she has done research on Diversity in Economics. She co-authored the Royal Economic Society Report "Who Studies Economics?". and is currently editing "Teaching Macroeconomics: A Modern and Inclusive Approach" as part of the Elgar Guides to Teaching, to be published in 2024.
Stefania has various external roles. She is Diversity Champion for the Royal Economic Society where she founded the RES Diversity and Inclusion Network, which connects economists in academic, public and private sector working on increasing awareness on diversity and inclusion in the discipline. As Associate of the Centre for Teaching and Learning Economics (CTaLE), she co-organises the #EconTEAching chats, a seminar series on Economics Education. Stefania is also Senior Associate and Exec member of the Economics Network.
