Lasara Kariyawasam is a Chartered Psychologist and Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Southampton. She is also a Research Associate for the Centre for Criminology at University of Oxford. Her research expertise lies in cross-cultural research and protecting vulnerable individuals from online risks and harms. She has conducted several research projects on compassion, self-harming, and victimisation of online harms in relation to cross-cultural settings. She is particularly interested in exploring cultural barriers to mental health and accessing support.
