Amana is completing her PhD in the School of Primary Care, Population Sciences and Medical Education at the University of Southampton funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) School for Primary Care Research (SPCR).
She recently completed her MSc in Public Health and Health Promotion at Swansea University.
She is a Public Health Practitioner working toward full registration with a portfolio consisting of mental health, epidemiology and community research.
She has had previous experience editing at The Lancet Global Health and interning at the National Centre for Population Health and Wellbeing Research. She has a current position on the National Independent Advisory Committee for Anti-Racism and Criminal Justice.
Her doctoral research is understanding complexity in the self-management of acute and chronic distress and the potential to optimise a digital intervention to support this.
