I am from Taiwan and was trained in geology. I am an echinologist and palaeontologist. I have been working on underexplored Taiwanese fossils, including their taxonomy, taphonomy, palaeoecology, and biostratigraphy. I am currently a PhD student studying the morphological evolution of echinoids within the Cretaceous Chalk Sea.
My PhD research focuses on applying high-resolution morphological data of fossil echinoids from the British Cretaceous Chalk to statistical models, aiming to understand the tempo and mode of their trait evolution and its potential drivers. By understanding how Chalk Sea ecosystems changed in response to past extreme environments, my research aims to improve projections of how current marine ecosystems might change in response to present-day global change.
My research is part of the ChaSE project (Chalk Sea Ecosystems Project).
