Physical Oceanography

We seek to understand, quantify and predict the physical character of the ocean, and the dynamic processes that control its circulation and mixing.

Part of Ocean and earth science

We quantify and predict the ocean’s character and processes to tackle extreme events, acidification and other pressing issues. We work with other scientists worldwide and modellers within the Natural Environment Research Council.
