Research project

Peer research manual pilot

Project overview

Piloting a peer research manual developed through a peer research project designed to empower passionate change makers with lived experience of homelessness to drive the agenda, produce evidence and advocate for systemic change. People with lived experience were given the tools to lead this research, thereby developing a more meaningful understanding of intersectionality within their community. The result of this pilot programme was a novel, peer-produced research methodology manual specifically designed to grow participants' confidence and ability to safely investigate the research topics they feel are crucial/key to investigate, even where these pose a risk of (re-)traumatisation. This peer research manual was then piloted in a variety of settings including an academic institution which partners with a social enterprise peer mentoring programme.
