Research project

Work lives and Wellbeing of the Mental Health Nursing Workforce

Project overview

As the demand for mental health services rises, workforce shortages are affecting nurses ability to provide good quality care by impacting their workload, wellbeing, and morale. Despite mental health nursing being a priority area, little attention has been paid to the work lives and wellbeing of mental health nurses. This study aims to map what is known about the mental health nursing workforce, identify modifiable workplace factors that impact staff experience, wellbeing and outcomes, and work collaboratively with nurses and nurse leaders to identify solutions.
