Having successfully completed this module, you will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of:
- The self-motivational and performance anxiety management skills needed when undertaking a career as a professional performing musician or any other career requiring a public form of performance.
- The engagement, planning and preparation of a recital of a professional (or near professional) standard.
- The study of advanced contextual and technical material relevant to your instrument or voice.

Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:
- Apply broader subject content to development of their own practical skills-set
- Manage your time in preparation for a long-term project

Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:
- Present your recitals in an appropriate manner, paying attention to self-presentation
- Plan the technical work that you will need to undertake to support the performance of your chosen repertoire.
- Plan and perform your own recital programmes while embedding the value of diversity and inclusion in programme planning.

Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the technical disciplines that relate to your instrument or voice and disseminate through your performance.
- Critically assess the suitability of repertoire for different performing scenarios.
Syllabus
Following on from your first recital, this module aims to make further advances in the quality of instrumental or vocal study, developing your technical resources and repertory leading to the presentation of a recital
Learning and Teaching
Teaching and learning methods
Teaching methods include
- Individual tuition (16 hours) with a specialist teacher, developing technically and musically, learning repertoire appropriate to the module.
Learning activities include
- Participation in regular performance classes.
- Attendance at concerts and workshops held in the music department (8 hrs).
- Engaging in relevant performance projects and workshops run by the department, visiting musicians and faculty.
