Module overview
For thinkers of the Global South, the experience of empire, of being subject to imperial rule in a variety of forms, serves as a key site for the development of political theory. This module addresses a range of the responses to empire that emerged within and from struggles against imperialism and does so across a number of different imperial contexts. In reflecting on the forms of imperialism and in critiques of empire, it focuses both on understanding and evaluating individual political theories and on considering them as a collective response to the experience of empire.
