Syllabus
The aims of this modules are:
to provide students with an overview of how to build a digital health intervention
to gain a better understanding of the important issues in digital technology to support health
to explore theory and research about behaviour change and digital health interventions
to promote critical understanding of digital technology for health in the real world
Key topics will include:
Digital health and behaviour change
Person-Based approaches to intervention development
Digital accessibility
Digital engagement
Using Lifeguide+ to develop digital interventions
Learning and Teaching
Teaching and learning methods
Teaching and learning methods include 11 x two-hour lectures, 2 x two-hour tutorial sessions with small and large group discussion. Students will be expected to read all core readings and some additional readings and, where relevant, to make use of internet resources for seeking further information.
Students will learn to use the University of Southampton dedicated programme "Lifeguide+". Lifeguide+ is an accessible program that allows users to develop simple programs, websites and apps that can be used to develop and trial digital tools.
