A Semester Abroad module for Ocean and Earth Science students studying MSci Biology & Marine Biology, MSci Environmental Geoscience (Geoscience), MSci Geology, MSci Geophysics, MSci Geophysical Geology.
Students will attend their host institution in Semester 2 of the 3rd year of their MSci programme.

Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:
- To further student's knowledge within and across oceanographic, geological, geophysical and/or marine biological interests.
- To enable students to appreciate the added value that arises from first-hand experience of the different academic and research approaches between the UK and our international partners.
Syllabus
Within this University of Southampton module, you study a number of related topics abroad. This module aims to provide students with an opportunity to study in a different cultural environment and to receive instruction from research leaders in a top international University.
Learning and Teaching
Teaching and learning methods
1. Formal lectures by research leaders in the Ocean and Earth sciences.
2. Practical and laboratory classes using state of the art facilities.
3. Fieldwork (depending on elective choices), which will involve up to date techniques and deployment of state of the art field equipment.
4. Examples classes in small groups with expert supervision.
5. Computer-based classes using state of the art software.
