About
Naomi is a PhD student in the Tumbarello lab where her project combines cell biology and neuroscience to investigate the relationship between alpha-synuclein and mitochondrial quality control. Her research aims to determine the impacts of perturbations in alpha-synuclein on mitochondrial health, through loss- and gain-of-function studies. This will provide information on the connection between the two both in a physiological and pathological context.
Alongside her own research, she is actively involved in training and supervising other PhD students and Masters students in her lab. She is also a demonstrator for an undergraduate module where she assists both in the teaching labs and in marking assignments.
