Dr Zhang's current research focuses on macroeconomic implications of financial development (e.g., traditional finance and shadow banking) and technology innovation (or broadly intangibles). I'm particularly interested in the interactions between business cycles and long-run growth or development issues through various channels.
Dr Zhang's teaching mainly focuses on quantitative modules. Currently, he teaches Advanced Time Series Modelling and Financial Econometrics. He is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA).
In the past, Dr Zhang has taught Advanced Mathematics, Advanced Statistics, and Advanced Economics.
