Biography
Dr Joseph Lifton is a Lecturer in Mechatronics at the University of Southampton.
Joseph completed his PhD with the University of Southampton in 2015, he then lectured Engineering Design at the University of Southampton Malaysia Campus from 2015 to 2018. From 2018 to 2024, Joseph worked in Singapore with the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) where he worked closely with manufacturing industries to address their measurement and inspection needs, alongside undertaking translational research on advanced metrology for advanced manufacturing.
Joseph’s research interests include: the inspection and measurement of geometrically complex engineering components, intelligent tomographic scanning techniques, advanced 3D image processing algorithms, and the development of high-energy high-resolution X-ray CT for the measurement and inspection of large and dense objects.
