Dr Dimitrios Ntounis is a Lecturer in Accounting at Southampton Business School. He joined SBS in January 2025. His main research interests lie in the area of financial, management and cost accounting. Specifically, his current research projects focus on organizational-specific and CEO-specific characteristics that includes emerging areas in the fields of Accounting and Finance, such the level of cost asymmetry and CEO incentive compensation.
Dimitrios has published research papers in highly regarded academic journals (ABS: 3), such as: Journal of International Accounting, Auditing and Taxation and European Journal of Finance. Drawing on his previous academic experience, Dimitrios’ teaching interests emphasize Accounting. He has presented his research at numerous national and international peer-reviewed conferences, including the European Accounting Association (EAA), and Business Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA). He is a member of the European Accounting Association, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and the Business Accounting and Finance Association. In terms of teaching experience, Dimitrios has developed and taught modules such as Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, and Auditing.
