From transport and energy to the built environment and liveable cities, our expertise is helping to create more sustainable and resilient infrastructure, on land and in the ocean. The National Infrastructure Laboratory (NIL) hosts 5 laboratories that provide world-leading facilities for the testing of structures, components and materials over a range of scales, allowing the long-term behaviour of infrastructure to be understood.
