We are part of the School of Human Development and Health in the Faculty of Medicine.
We run investigator-led and multicentre randomised trials, as well as commercial projects. Our work focuses on:
- coronary and structural heart disease
- rhythm abnormalities and pacing
- heart failure and complex devices
We have an international reputation in fields including:
- personalised platelet function
- coronary physiology and advanced ischaemia imaging
- leadless pacing
- subcutaneous defibrillators and myocardial scar to determine benefit of defibrillators in non-ischaemic cardiomyopathy
We pioneer the use of artificial intelligence assessment.
We supervise medical student research degrees at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
We have a network of national and international collaborations.
