Research project

The effect of mast cell tryptase on calcium mobilization in PAR2 transfected KNRK cells

Project overview

Mast cell tryptase is secreted in substantial quantities at sites of allergic inflammation. Pro-inflammatory actions mediated through PAR2 have been proposed, but mechanisms of receptor activation are unclear. Mechanism of action of tryptase may be dependent or independent on activation of Protease Activated Receptors 2 (PAR-2). PAR-2 activation is associated with calcium mobilisation into cells.
