Research project

Tranquillity mapping for urban greenspace access and healthier journeys: using machine learning and perceptual field data.

Project overview

The project is a collaboration between Tranquil City Ltd, an environmental SME specializing in people-centred data and interventions and University of Southampton’s GeoData Institute through the HEIF grant. The aim of the project is to produce a tranquillity index for the entire city, using data aggregation, prediction of new datasets using satellite information and the combination of multiple factors to indicate the potential for tranquillity, based on the latest empirical evidence.
