Current research
I am currently examining the proposals by the Dept of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, HMRC, and HM Treasury on corporate re-domiciliation - in effect, the proposal is to enable offshore companies to transfer their corporate registration to the UK. Also considering the proposed new role of Companies House, the public registry, which is the subject of the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Bill which will be before Parliament in this session, 2022-23.
Having just completed work (forthcoming book chapter) on the extent of shareholder information rights in the UK, I am now examining the development of shareholder remedies since 1945 - this work will combine with work from colleagues across the UK examining the historical development of company law.
