About this course

This course is an introductory course in radioanalytical techniques and theory. 

Day 1

  1. Basic lab techniques (Unit 10) 
  2. Sample preparation for radioanalytical characterisation (Unit 11) 
  3. Radiometric Instrumentation (Unit 3) 
  4. Liquid Scintillation Counting (Unit 5) 
  5. ISO/IEC 17025 (Unit 9a) 
     

Day 2

  1. Mathematical techniques and counting statistics (Unit 2 / 2b) 
  2. QA and method validation (unit 9b) 
  3. Radiochemical separation techniques (Unit 4) 
  4. Advanced separation techniques (Unit 12)

This course is for new analysts and radiochemists and for anyone looking for refresher training.   

Learning and assessment

This in-person course at the University of Southampton's Waterfront Campus includes access to our on-site radioanalytical laboratories. You'll receive a copy of the notes and a certificate of attendance.
