Current research
Leor Barack is a theoretical physicist working in classical gravity and relativistic astrophysics. He studies gravitational waves and back-reaction in strongly-gravitating systems involving black holes. His research contributes to the modelling of sources for current and planned gravitational-wave detectors.

Biography
Leor Barack received his PhD in Physics from the Technion of Israel in 2000. He was a Marie-Curie postdoctoral fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics in Golm, Germany, and a senior postdoctoral fellow at the NASA center for gravitational-wave astronomy at Brownsville, Texas. In 2004 he was appointed a Lecturer at the University of Southampton, and since 2012 he is a Professor of Mathematical Physics. He was holder of an ERC grant 2012-2017.
