Jane is a medical sociologist and experienced mixed methods researcher with particular expertise in qualitative methods, evaluation of complex interventions and research on sensitive issues. She is a joint author on a methods text on focus groups. Her research interests are the everyday experiences and work of health and illness; self-care, self-management and help seeking; and the acquisition of health knowledge and skills. Her current research is focussed around cancer health and wellbeing, personalised care and implementation of innovation in healthcare settings. She is part of the Centre for Psychosocial Research in Cancer: CentRIC+, supporting the HORIZONS cohort study of recovery of health and well-being post cancer treatment. She led the evaluation of the TrueNTH Supported Self-Management and Follow-up Care Programme for men with prostate cancer.
