Current research
Dr Marshall is currently writing about the future of the risk management profession.
Additional papers currently under development consider risk and uncertainty issues within the contexts of regulation, business ethics, crisis management and project management.
Dr Marshall is also interested in interdisciplinary organisation studies perspectives on risk research that bring together issues of strategy, leadership, culture, politics and decision-making.
Strong research interests (ideally based on professional experience) in these areas are welcomed from prospective PhD students.

Teaching
Dr Alasdair Marshall has since 2008 taught a range of introductory courses on corporate risk management at both postgraduate and undergraduate level.
Biography
Alasdair Marshall joined the Southampton Business School as Lecturer in Risk Management in September 2008.
Both his MA (Hons) degree and PhD are in Social Science, from the University of Glasgow.
Between 2003 and 2008, Alasdair worked at Glasgow Caledonian University, where he contributed to Risk Management teaching within Caledonian Business School and was involved in a broad range of research and consultancy projects within the Cullen Centre for Risk and Governance.
